South Point Villa is a light, modern villa on one of Sri Lanka’s most pretty fishing bays. Colorful fish swim within the protected reef of coral and crustaceans which provides a snorkelers’ paradise, but also a territory for the intriguing stilt fishermen, who jealously guard their posts passed down through families. The fish are so beautiful and plentiful that it is said the cook calls out your order to the surrounding sea.
The villa is a wonderful blend of contemporary design and antique furnishings. Ideal for a family or group traveling together, but a couple would not feel lost in these surroundings. Two rooms look out onto the ocean and the third overlooks the pool. The pool is tucked around the corner so noisy, splashing children do not disturb a peaceful rest on the beach deck.
There are 2 spacious and stylish bedrooms at South Point Villa, each with a king-size four-poster bed with muslin drapes taking center stage on the highly polished Burma teak or Asian oak floors. There is a walk-in dressing area with ample storage in antique wardrobes, complimenting the pettakama (box) and bed. Large shower rooms are en-suite.
