Logistics International Limited (LIL), a subsidiary of Hayleys Advantis the Transportation and Logistics arm of Hayleys PLC of Sri Lanka, was established in 1996 in the pursuit of Group’s dream of becoming a Premier Container Depot Operator in Sri Lanka. Having completed an eventful 20 years of premier service to our clientele both locally & internationally, the company continues on its successful journey, with our sights set on becoming a Global Benchmark for both value creation and corporate citizenship. LIL became the first container depot in Sri Lanka to achieve the ISO 9001 standard for Quality Management System in December 1999 and has continued to maintain these standards to date.
Recognized for constantly delivering beyond expectations to our global customer base through constant innovation, we have received many prestigious accolades such as the National Quality Award (2001), National HRM Awards (2002), National Award for Export Excellence (2003) amongst others. We Have been recognized by Textainer, the world’s largest container leasing company, as “The Best Depot of the Region” at three consecutive occasions (i.e. in 2000, 2006 & 2012), which covers the African, Middle-Eastern and Indian Sub-continent regions. This prestigious award is presented in recognition of the efforts made by its partners in meeting the needs of customers and developing new solutions in logistics.

Very good question! Shipping containers are the big steel boxes that sit on the back of lorries, trains and ships and are used for importing and exporting goods.
