AeU Centre for Management and Technology (Private) Limited, was incorporated as a private limited liability company and is based in Colombo. The company will handle programmes of AeU exclusively and is an associate company of Phoenix Business School (Private) Limited.
AeU Centre collaborates with global educational institutions to offer quality, affordable and marketable programmes through dual-mode learning. These initiatives have attracted a large number of students from around the world. Currently, the MBA and EMBA programmes are delivered through two Learning Centres in Colombo and Kandy. However, the institute in Colombo conducts programmes only on Saturday mornings and many students who are unable to attend classes on Saturday as their organizations work on Saturday opt for competitive alternatives.
AeU Centre for Management and Technology (Private) Limited was incorporated in Sri Lanka to function as a Learning Centre of Asia e University, Malaysia. It will deliver programmes of Asia e University of Malaysia to selected potential markets in Sri Lanka. The center will focus on programmes in management and technology areas.
The Bachelor programme at AeU will take 4-5 years to complete. The full time Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology will take 3 years to complete.
Each intake consists of 14 weeks of study, 1 week of examination and 2 weeks semester break. For the DBA programme, each intake is 2 months.
The intakes are January, May and September EXCEPT for the following programmes:
The intakes for the Bachelor of Education in Teaching English as a Second Language (B. Ed TESL) are March, July and November.
There are 5 intakes per year for the DBA programme - February, May, July, October and December.
AeU is a multinational university set in Asia by Asians under the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD), which is an international organisation that consists of 33 countries.
On the recommendations of the 2004 Kuala Lumpur’s ACD e-Education Workshop and the Islamabad Declaration 2005 following the 4th ACD’s Ministerial Meeting in Pakistan, Malaysia has taken the initiative to establish AeU with the support of the 33 ACD member countries. Hence, 33 universities, 1 University.
Students have to submit 2 assignments and sit for one 1 final examination.
Students will be assessed by, 60% of their grades are based on their assignments and 40% is based on their final examination. If they are taking the Bachelor or Education (TESL) programme, 60% is based on continuous assessment (i.e assignments, quizzes, class participation) and 40% is on the final examination.
